Any measurement needs something that is not itself being measured. Position needs an origin, motion needs a frame. Without one, every statement is relative to another statement, and the chain never reaches ground.

Something there is

And crucially, it is the one thing you have access to that is not mediated. Everything else reaches you through perception, which can misreport. Your own existence as the one perceiving is not delivered by any instrument that could be faulty.
So the fixed point is not distant, not hidden, and not something to be searched for. It is the position from which the searching is being done — and that is precisely why it is easy to overlook, as the analysis of what is alive explains.
What it is for
The stake is spelled out plainly. An absolute foundation makes an absolute truth possible, and an absolute truth is what the whole project of solving the mystery of life would need.
The video anticipates the fair objection — plenty of people have claimed a solution, so why this one — and answers it in terms of method rather than authority: the claim is that this account is built from the absolute rather than assembled out of relative pieces.
